Review: Dr. Jart Black Label Detox healing BB cream

So after reading My Gorgeous Pink Cheek's review about this BB cream, I immediately messaged my brother-in-law Jimmy to buy one for me in Hongkong. Good thing he got it on sale =)

Product Info:
This unique triple action formula containing innovative beauty ingredients aim at naturally covering skin blemishes, protecting skin from UV rays and activating skin care. It also smoothes wrinkles and fine lines while providing nourishment to the skin.

PRICE: HK$290, but it was on sale for HK$232 (about Php 1,300).

NET WEIGHT: 50 ml

WHERE TO BUY: www.sasa.com

PROS:
* with SPF 25
* easy to spread
* non-sticky
* a tube will usually last me up to 8 months with everyday use.
* i love the dewy effect and the shade is perfect for my skintone.
* doesn't look ashy unlike other BB creams
* no white cast on photos

CONS:
* staying power is so-so, but take note I have normal skin with oily t-zone. I believe this BB cream is formulated for dry-normal skintypes.
* has a slight floral scent, but don't worry the scent disappears a few minutes after application.
* available in only 1 shade. Suits NC20-NC35 skintones.
* not sure whether this is locally available.
UPDATE: Dr. Jart is already back in the Philippines. You may visit their stall inside SM Megamall (Department store area).

TIPS:
To make this BB cream last longer especially people with oily skin, I recommend using a primer prior to using this BB cream. Apply primer only on the oily areas such as the t-zone to avoid avoid the heavy-feeling.

OVERALL:
I LOVE this BB cream! I like how it easily evens out my skintone, doesn't feel heavy and most of all the glowing effect it gives.
I will do a comparison next time with my three Dr. Jart BB creams (Silver label, Black label and Water Fuse)

Review: Bobbi Brown To Go Palette

I got this kit during the Bobbi Brown Opening here in Cebu last April.

Bobbi Brown to Go Kit

The kit includes:
Smokey Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette (3.2g)
Mini Extreme Party Mascara (3 ml)

Both are travel sized. I love that the eyeshadow palette is so sleek, it can be mistaken as a mirror.

The eyeshadow palette comes with a tiny brush.
To be honest, I'm not really a fan of the brushes/applicators included in any palette, I prefer to use my own brushes.

Navajo | Cement | Velvet plum | Caviar
Navy | Rockstar | Sterling | Snow

The eyeshadows are pigmented and long-wearing even without primer.
Cement reminds me of  MAC Wedge eyeshadow which is my favorite to blend harsh colors and contouring.

Here's a simple EOTD using this eyeshadow palette:
I used the following shades:
  Navajo metallic Eye shadow (highlight)
Cement eye shadow (crease)
Velvet Plum Metallic eye shadow (lid)

NET WEIGHT:
Old packaging (slanted tip) 8 ml (.27 fl oz)
New packaging (pointed tip) 10 ml (.33 fl oz)

 old packaging vs. new

I like the new packaging because:
* it dispenses the right amount of product when you squeeze the tube
* it's hygenic and mess-free compared to the old one
* contains more product (2 ml more)

These are priced at around Php 800 - 900 each, but I got these from swap.
Swatches:
Memento | Nylon | Anime

Memento - is a medium peachy- nude shade. This is my very first lip tar and I feel in love with it!

Nylon - is a super bright NEON  pink shade that reminds me of MAC Candy Yumyum lipstick. This shade is really BRIGHT, not for the faint of heart!

Anime -  is a darker neon pink shade. Compared to Nylon, this is much more wearable.

List of ingredients
OCC lip tars are 100 % vegan and doesn't contain parabens.

APPLICATION TIPS:
These are quite drying so I recommend applying lip balm first. Let the lip balm absorb for a minute or two, then blot the excess with tissue. I prefer to apply it using my fingertips to really deposit the color, then blot my lips again with tissue. Re-apply again. You can also use a lip brush to define the edges.

OVERALL:
Lip Tars are very long-wearing. It lasts for 5-6 hours on my lips, but easily fade when I eat something oily. I love minty scents so this one is a plus for me.
