2. Maybelline Moisture Extreme in Summer Sunset (US version)
3. Maybelline Moisture Extreme in Empire Rouge
4. MAC Satin Lipstick in Mac Red

I forgot to include my LAKME Enrich Lipstick in Cherry, but you can check my review & swatches HERE.

I think women should have a least 1 red lipstick in her makeup kit. Why?
Coz when you only have 5 minutes to do your makeup all you need to do is :

1. Apply moisturiser.
2. Conceal blemishes & undereye circles.

3. Set with powder or apply powder foundation.
4. Groom your brows.
5. Apply eyeliner (optional) and mascara.
6. Apply lipbalm and RED lipstick.
You can also use your fingertips to dab the lipstick on your lips for a stained effect.

If you're too lazy to apply eye makeup, just even out your skintone with powder foundation and apply red lipstick. Wearing sunglasses also gives the illusion of wearing FULL makeup. =)

Review: Revlon Fire & Ice Superlustrous Lipsticks

Product Info from Revlon:
Silky smooth, creamy formula with silk-enriched mega moisturisers and vitamins.

RETAIL PRICE: Php 450.00 | Php 925.00 for the Limited Edition vintage case
Special Promo: For a minimum purchase of Php 2,000 worth of Revlon cosmetics, get the Limited Edition Superlustrous lipstick in Vintage case for Php 500 only.

WEIGHT: 4.2 grams

SHADES : Superlustrous lipsticks are available in over 70 shades, but only a few are available locally.

PROS:
* no weird lipstick smell (*ehem* NYX)
* i love the classic black tube packaging with Revlon's classic logo in cursive
* The texture of Demure, Temptress & Siren reminds me of MAC Lustre Lipsticks, while Light and Fire is similar to MAC Amplified creme in terms of texture and finish.
* Amazing staying power (Light & Fire), lasts for about 5 hours on me. It leaves a nice stain on my lips even after eating/drinking.
* Buildable color (Siren & Light and Fire)
* creamy texture, glides like a dream

CONS:
* not as moisturising as Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks, so make sure to apply lipbalm underneath.
* Demure & Tempress barely shows up on me. I have to layer it several times, but the shades are good though if you're sporting a colorful eye makeup or smokey eyes.
* Staying power is so-so (Demure & Temptress), it lasts for about 3 hours, but if you eat or drink expect it to fade pretty quickly.

ADDICTION FACTOR:
If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to MAC lipsticks, I highly recommend Revlon. They are inexpensive, creamy and come in different textures similar to MAC lipsticks (matte, frost & cream). You'll get 2 lipsticks for the price of 1 MAC lippie. I'm eyeing on Pink Pout (matte finish) coz of the good reviews.

RATING : 3/5

FIRE AND ICE!
I know YOU didn't expect this shade to be my favorite, but I love how it flatters my NC20 skintone.
My officemate even noticed and asked what shade I was wearing.. she even tried it on and loved the shade! My friend's skintone is NC30 btw and it suits her too =)

* Remove makeup using makeup remover/cleanser.

Review: Monistat Anti-chafing powder gel (as a primer)

Product Info from Monistat:
  • Non-greasy POWDER-GEL™ skin protectant formula with dimethicone. Dries to form a silky, breathable barrier to fight friction.
  • Prevents chafing and irritation caused by moisture, heat, and movement. Ideal for treating everyday intimate discomforts of athletes, plus-size women, new moms and bikini area waxers or shavers.
  • Fast-acting formula comforts chafed skin. Works with just one application.
  • Fragrance-free and non-staining.
  • Non-irritating formula with vitamin E and soothing aloe. Gentle enough for daily use on even your most delicate areas.
RETAIL PRICE: Php 500.00? Sorry forgot the exact price.

WEIGHT: 42 grams / 1.5 oz

SHADES : N/A

PROS:
* unscented
* hygenic easy squeeze tube
* feels lightweight
* non-greasy ; dries to a powder finish
* my face instantly looked matte after application
* makes my foundation & concealer glide easily
* my concealer did not crease/fade and my foundation/BB cream are still intact at the end of the day.
* can be used as an eyeshadow primer
* been using this for more than a month and so far I didn't break out.
* I think this tube will last me a long time. You only need a pea sized amount for the whole face.
* the active ingredient is DIMETHICONE, which is found in all high-end face face primers. It is a silicon based emollient that forms a protective barrier to help retain skin moisture.

CONS:
* hard to find. Not available locally.
* may cause breakouts if you're allergic to Silica & Dimethicone. Make sure to do a patch test first to see if you're allergic or not.

TIPS:
*
Apply after moisturiser. Let it dry before applying foundation or BB cream.

ADDICTION FACTOR:
If you're looking for an inexpensive primer I highly recommend this product. I've tried other face primers but this product makes my makeup last longer. With other face primers I usually notice my concealer & foundation fading after work around 6 pm, but with this even during dinner time my makeup is still intact... but take note I blot & retouch with powder once during the day. Now I'm planning to get a back-up =)

RATING : 4.5/5

Sneak Peek: New Revlon Fire & Ice Collection Photos + Swatches

Jessica Biel reenacting the Revlon Ad from 1952.

INFO FROM REVLON:
" In 1952, Revlon captured the new American beauty, a woman so dynamic and demure, she was impossible to define.
With the historic launch of Fire & Ice, Revlon solidified its place as the beauty authority of that time. The iconic advertisement, including the provocative questionnaire asking women “Are You Made for Fire & Ice?” was hard to forget, and almost 60 years later still one of the most recognizable advertisements in Revlon’s rich history. The lipstick it featured, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice, remains a top-selling shade for Revlon to this day.

Revlon, a pioneer in the beauty industry with its matching lip and nail shade statements, is thrilled to re-introduce its infamous ‘lips and tips’ pairings this winter with the Fire & Ice Collection - 3 new shades in Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick with matching Revlon Nail Enamels: Siren, Temptress and Demure. Shades that pay homage to the classic colors that put Revlon at the forefront within the cosmetics realm."

For now, I will let the photos do the talking.

"Also included in the Fire & Ice Collection will be a limited edition Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice housed in a one-of-a-kind vintage case. This collector’s piece will feature the shade in a silver tube with original Revlon script across the gold band - a classic inside and out."

DEMURE - peachy MLBB shade

SIREN - a bright coral

FIRE & ICE LIPSTICK - a blue-based red
