Sephora Collection Must-Have Glow Highlighter Palette 2020 Review and Swatches

Hi Shopcoholics! This palette is one of the items that I bought during Sephora’s sale last October. I was looking for a highlighter palette because I’ve realized I only own a few highlighters in my makeup kit. When I saw this one, I immediately added it to my cart because it is a new release and it is inexpensive too.

PRODUCT INFO FROM SEPHORA:

The highlighter version of the must-have face palette! 4 universal shades and 4 ultra-trendy finishes to perfectly master the art of glow.

WHAT IT DOES:

It is a face, eye and lip palette. A 4-shade color harmony with lightweight, buildable textures to achieve a healthy glow that suits all complexions. The formulas instantly blend with the skin for an even result. Thanks to the illustrated tutorial, the glow trend has never been easier to recreate!

HOW TO:

1. Apply your usual face makeup to even out the complexion and create the perfect base

2. Load a highlighter brush with one of the powders or use the cream highlighter with your finger

3. Apply the product to various parts of your face as shown in the illustrated tutorial.

PACKAGING:
Plastic palette with a mirror, I like that is sleek and lightweight.

PRICE:
PHP 1,020 or around $20

WHERE TO BUY:

Sephora PH

TEXTURE & PIGMENTATION:
The cream highlighter (first shade) is not that pigmented, though it looks like a peach shade on the pan but when applied it is clear with golden shimmers. I think this is nice when you are sporting a bare face or a dewy look. This adds a nice touch of glow to your face without looking too harsh. You can also use this as an eye base for the other shades if you are planning to use this as an eyeshadow... if you have oily lids this isn’t recommended though coz there is a big chance of creasing.

The texture and pigmentation of the powder highlighters are just so-so in my opinion, but it is easy to blend and and use.

STAYING POWER:
Honestly I haven’t really tested this on my face for several hours but usually powder stuff on my face lasts the whole day because of my combo skin type.

First two shades

Left: Cream highlighter (clear with golden shimmers)
Right: Shimmery bronze color

Last two shades

Left: Pale pink with pink glitters
Right: Light bronze with gold glitters

Swatches on NC20 skin tone

The glitters aren’t visible on the pic but in person the last two shades are really glittery.

TIPS:
For a subtle effect use a fan brush, tap off the excess then apply on the face.

OVERALL:
Eventhough the shades on this palette are too shimmery for my taste as a highlighter (I prefer a natural and glowy look), this palette is not that bad. Considering the price, you’ll get 4 big pans of multi-purpose shades that can be used on the eyes, cheeks (layer on top of blush), and a highlighter on the face to make you look glowing. The last two shades are really pretty when used as an eyeshadow on a night out. If you like shimmery products, then I’m sure you’ll love this palette!

Till next time,
