Review: Colour Collection Ultimate Wear Lipstick

I got this lipstick from a loot bag that Sample Room Philippines sent me a few weeks ago. This is the first product that caught my eye because of the good reviews I've read online. Read on to know what I think about this lipstick.

PRODUCT INFO:
Achieve rich, longwearing color that glides on smoothly and doesn’t fade away easily. Lasts up to 8 hours! Always hydrating and never drying, this high-cushioned lipstick keeps lips moisturized all day, minimizes the appearance of fine lines, and stops feathering to give lips the perfect plumped-up appearance. Slim and handy, with a see through window for easy identification.

PRICE: Php 350.00

NET WEIGHT: 2.5 grams

WHERE TO BUY: Available through Tupperware dealers.

SHADES: Available in 6 gorgeous shades.

PROS:
* affordable
* the smell isn't overpowering; i hate overly scented makeups especially lippies.
* the lipstick bullet is so slim and lightweight
* non-drying even without lipbalm
* very pigmented and long-lasting; lasts for more than 5 hours.
* doesn't feel heavy on the lips

NEUTRAL:
* stays on forever; you need an oil-based makeup remover to completely remove the lipstick.

CONS:
* only available through Tupperware dealers.

OVERALL:
When I started collecting makeup a few years back, Colour Collection was one of my go-to brands, especially for lipsticks. I am impressed they have improved the quality and staying power of their lipsticks. I highly recommend their Ultimate Wear line if you are looking for an affordable lipstick that is budge-proof (and kiss-proof *wink*) for special occassions or for everyday use.

Review : MAC Blot Powder (Pressed)

MAC Blot powder in Light

Product Info from MAC's site:
A unique pressed powder designed primarily to provide shine control without adding any noticeable colour or texture. Sets foundation, finishes faces. For use in professional situations and for frequent touch-ups. Blot Powder contains Mica and Silica to adsorb excess oils and reduce shine on the skin's surface. Can be applied with the puff that comes in the compact or with a powder brush like #129 Powder/Blush Brush. Perfect for touching up Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation throughout the day.

Product Weight :
12 g / 0.42 US OZ

Price :
US $21.00 or Php 1,050

Shades :
Light, Medium, Medium-Dark, Dark, Deep Dark

WHAT I LIKE:
* the packaging
* the sponge is soft; but I sometimes use my baby buki
* controls oil for about 4 hrs ( use it on my T-zone only) ; my cheeks are dry
* it goes translucent (i use LIGHT, at first i thought its too white for me)
* unscented (i hate products with parfums or strong scents)

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
* expensive for an oil control powder

RATING :
3 out of 5.

ADDICTION FACTOR:
If you don't have super oily skin like me or you find it too expensive, there are cheaper alternatives.

* Pigeon Compact powder - Click here to read Angie's review.
There are 2 kinds of Pigeon powder available in the market. The Mirrorless compact is made in Japan and the other one from Indonesia. The former comes only in white shade and is medicated to prevent pimples and it has collagen and silicon oil to protect babies' sensitive skin too!
The latter comes in 4 shades, white, pink, beige and brown and comes in a oval- square-ish white compact with mirror.
Retails for Php 200+

Here's the MAC Eyeshadow Dupes (according to Ms. Do)

* pic taken from Ms. Do's website*

My most used colors from my Neutral palette are :

Vanilla - I use it as an eyeshadow base (my first CS e/s to hit pan)
Gleam
- a shimmery beige
White frost - as highlighter
Jest
- a matte beigey-pink
Expensive pink
- perfect when paired with JEST.

I really don't know if the Coastal scents 28 Neutral palette really dupes MAC's eyeshadows since I don't own one hehe.. Let me know that you think ladies.. =)
