Review: Bobbi Brown To Go Palette

I got this kit during the Bobbi Brown Opening here in Cebu last April. 

Bobbi Brown to Go Kit

The kit includes:

Smokey Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette (3.2g)

Mini Extreme Party Mascara (3 ml)

Both are travel sized. I love that the eyeshadow palette is so sleek, it can be mistaken as a mirror.

 The eyeshadow palette comes with a tiny brush. 

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of the brushes/applicators included in any palette, I prefer to use my own brushes.

 Navajo | Cement | Velvet plum | Caviar

Navy | Rockstar | Sterling | Snow

 The eyeshadows are pigmented and long-wearing even without primer. 

Cement reminds me of  MAC Wedge eyeshadow which is my favorite to blend harsh colors and contouring.

Here's a simple EOTD using this eyeshadow palette:

I used the following shades:

  Navajo metallic Eye shadow (highlight)

Cement eye shadow (crease)

  Velvet Plum Metallic eye shadow (lid)

Review: Mary Kay Lash Love Waterproof Mascara

Product Info from Mary Kay:

Love your lashes with the mascara that defines, defends and delivers four times the volume while looking naturally flawless, soft and healthy. The flexible, sculpted brush separates and coats lashes.

RETAIL PRICE: Php 795.00

NET WEIGHT: 0.28 fl. oz.

PROS:
* lengthens and separates my lashes well
* this mascara is waterproof and doesn't budge the whole day.
* no clumping and flaking
* just 2 coats of this and my lashes look VA-VAVOOM! 
* volumizes but doesn't weigh down my lashes and the holds the curl well.
* smudge-proof 

CONS:
* this is kinda difficult to remove, you need an oil-based makeup remover. I'm using Maybelline Lip and Eye makeup remover.

* kinda pricey but worth it!

TIPS: 

Gently press the cotton pad with makeup remover on your lashes for about 10 seconds and gently wipe downwards.

I RECOMMEND THIS TO:
Those who are looking for an all-in-one mascara (waterproof, lengthening and volumizing). I also recommend this to bride-to-be's who are looking for a reliable mascara on their wedding day. 

OVERALL:

This is the first product I've tried from Mary Kay and I'm impressed!

Review: Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara

PROS:

* waterproof - does not smudge during the day
* doesn't clump or flake (when applied in THIN coats)
* the soft bristles makes application a breeze
* really volumizes and lenghtens my short lashes (see pics below)
* easy to remove with eye makeup remover

CONS:
* I find it a bit pricey. I usually spend less than Php 500 bucks for a tube of mascara coz it usually lasts for about 3-4 months.
* Sorry I didn't notice a difference between the 2 settings but I don't mind as long as it does the job of defining my lashes.


TIPS:

Did you know that using a waterproof mascara everyday may be harmful to your lashes? So make sure to remove it completely before going to bed.

A good tip I read from Makeupalley to make your non-waterproof mascara smude-proof, is to apply a thin layer of clear mascara over your non-waterproof mascara. Tried it and it worked!


ADDICTION FACTOR:
Been using it almost everyday since I first got it and the good thing is that I didn't notice my lashes falling off unlike other mascaras I've tried.

An Award winning mascara on beauty magazines, that's why I'm really excited to try this! Too bad its already discontinued, but you can check Ebay or Amazon for sellers.

WEIGHT : 0.43 fl oz or 12.7 ml

COLORS:
Blackest Black
Soft Black
Very Black

WHAT I LIKE:
* the brush is small so it reaches my tiniest lashes
* it lengthens (its a volumizing mascara btw)
* can be removed easily
* does not sting the eyes
* holds a lot of product (a regular tube contains only 7ml)
* doesn't smudge during the day

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
* its clumpy
* made my lashes stick together
* not volumizing!


TIPS:
This is a volumizing type of mascara. If you want longer lashes, apply a volumizing mascara first, let it dry and apply a lengthening mascara for a falsies effect..

ADDICTION FACTOR:
I'm quite disappointed with this product! I expected a lot from this so called Award-winning mascara.. I love Maybelline's Volume Express more. I only use this as second coat to my other mascara's if I want to lengthen my lashes.

KANEBO LAVSHUCA LIPGLOSS IN RS-01
(red shimmer)

RS-01 is a shimmery berry red color.

What I like:
* its shimmery like MAC's Lustreglass
* staying power up to 4 hours
* no smell or weird after taste
* pigmentation & color pay-off (sheer but buildable)
* kinda sticky - comparable to MAC Lustreglass
* tube packaging - hygenic compared to the wand types

What I don't like:
* nothing! =)

I hope its available locally.. I really like this gloss! =)

SHISEIDO MAJORLICA MAJORCA LASH EXTENSION MASCARA

This mascara promises to extend lashes up to 120x! hehe
That's the only info I have, can't understand their website coz its in Japanese! =P Lol!

What I like:
* comb type wand separates lashes to avoid clumping
* really lengthens my lashes
* waterproof

What I don't like:
* hard to remove
* not volumizing
* has a weird smell on the tube
* expensive for a mascara (costs approx. php 1,000)

I'll continue to use this though on special occasions that calls for a waterproof mascara. I prefer to use Maybelline since its much cheaper.

I also noticed, using Waterproof mascara everyday damages the lashes.

I'm the type of person that doesn't spend more that Php 600 on a mascara! Lol! Coz it only lasts 3-6 mos! =)
