Dr. Jart Every Sun Day UV Sun Fluid SPF 50 PA+++ review

Dr. Jart Every Sun Day UV Sun Fluid SPF 50+

It's almost March, and before we know it, summer is just around the corner. We all know the importance of applying sunscreen all year round. It protects the skin from the harmful UVA/UVB rays. The higher the spf, the better. I know it is easier said than done, 'coz I am also guilty of NOT applying sunscreen. Hahaha!

Dr. Jart BB Cream Swatches and Comparison

If you are a follower of this blog, I think you know by now that Dr. Jart BB Cream is my holy grail.
So here's a quick comparison of the Water Fuse, Black Label and Silver Label BB Creams.

I got my Dr. Jart BB Creams at www.sasa.com in Hongkong, but I read that they just opened a stall inside SM Megamall (Department store area).

Prices:
Water Fuse HK $ 295 (Php 1,622)
Black Label HK$ 290 (Php 1,595)
Silver Label HK$ 265(Php 1,457)

Sounds expensive but I got these 50 ml tubes on sale for 20% off.
It's sulit naman coz a tube usually lasts up to 8 months with everyday use.

Swatches

I made a simple table showing the functions and the coverage of each BB cream, as well as their undertones.

Dr. Jart BB Cream comes only in 1 shade per variant.
Silver Label suits NC20 - NC30.
Black Label suits NC20 - NC35.
Water Fuse suits NC15 - NC40 since the formula is quite sheer.

My favorite still is the Silver Label BB cream, followed by the Black Label variant.

Review: Dr. Jart Black Label Detox healing BB cream

 So after reading My Gorgeous Pink Cheek's review about this BB cream, I immediately messaged my brother-in-law Jimmy to buy one for me in Hongkong. Good thing he got it on sale =)

Product Info:
This unique triple action formula containing innovative beauty ingredients aim at naturally covering skin blemishes, protecting skin from UV rays and activating skin care. It also smoothes wrinkles and fine lines while providing nourishment to the skin.

PRICE: HK$290, but it was on sale for HK$232 (about Php 1,300).

NET WEIGHT: 50 ml

WHERE TO BUY: www.sasa.com

PROS:
* with SPF 25
* easy to spread
* non-sticky
* a tube will usually last me up to 8 months with everyday use.
* i love the dewy effect and the shade is perfect for my skintone.
* doesn't look ashy unlike other BB creams
* no white cast on photos

CONS:
* staying power is so-so, but take note I have normal skin with oily t-zone. I believe this BB cream is formulated for dry-normal skintypes.
* has a slight floral scent, but don't worry the scent disappears a few minutes after application.
* available in only 1 shade. Suits NC20-NC35 skintones.
* not sure whether this is locally available.
UPDATE: Dr. Jart is already back in the Philippines. You may visit their stall inside SM Megamall (Department store area).

TIPS:
To make this BB cream last longer especially people with oily skin, I recommend using a primer prior to using this BB cream. Apply primer only on the oily areas such as the t-zone to avoid avoid the heavy-feeling.

OVERALL:
I LOVE this BB cream! I like how it easily evens out my skintone, doesn't feel heavy and most of all the glowing effect it gives.
I will do a comparison next time with my three Dr. Jart BB creams (Silver label, Black label and Water Fuse)

Dr. Jart Silver Label BB cream : Authentic vs Fake

As you all know, this BB cream is my Holy grail (HG). I bought my very first Dr. Jart BB cream on Girltalk 5 years ago and I've been using it ever since. I've tried several BB Creams from Skinfood, Missha, Purederm, Skin79 that but this one is my super favorite. I will be worried if ever Dr. Jart will discontinue this variant (knocks on wood).

The color matches my NC20 skintone, lasts all day and doesn't break me out. But the bad news? This is not locally available in Cebu. I always ask my brother in law to buy it for me in Hongkong. This BB cream is available at Sasa.com and retails for HK$270 if not on sale (about Php 1,485).

Anyway, on to the pics. Left side is the FAKE one.

The FAKE one has a code at the top portion of the tube.

Edit: New batch of Authentic BB creams
The new ones have a batch code printed on the front portion of the tube ex. "LOT J24L10"
At the back of the tube it has an expiry date ex. "EXP 20150430"

The AUTHENTIC Dr. Jart BB cream has a beige undertone while the FAKE one is slightly pinkish.
The texture of the authentic Dr. Jart is creamier while the fake one is watery.

Just to be sure, look for the Authentic Dr. Jart seal when you buy one ok?

Dr. Jart Silver Label Rejuvenating vs. Most Moist Water Fuse BB cream

As you all know if you read my previous post, my holy grail BB cream is Dr. Jart Silver Label Rejuvenating BB cream. I've tried a lot of BB creams in the past from Skinfood, Missha, Purederm, and Skin79 but this is the only one that I can say I can't live without coz I have already finished 3 tubes of this.  I don't use foundation on a daily basis, just BB cream, concealer and powder. I got this Water Fuse BB cream when I asked my brother in law from Hongkong to buy me a back up of the Silver label, but he got confused and bought this instead! Ahh... guys! LOL But nevertheless, I'm happy I got to try this.

The Silver Label  retails for HK$212 (about Php 1,166)  while the Water Fuse for  HK$236 (about 1,300).

Swatches
 Dr. Jart Water Fuse Most Moist | Rejuvenating Silver Label
As you can see, Water Fuse is a tad darker than the Rejuvenating BB.
Water fuse has a beige undertone while Rejuvenating is yellow toned.

The Water Fuse BB cream has a watery texture and coverage is just light. Doesn't cover pores, pimples etc. Since this is a moisturising BB cream meaning this is good for normal to dry skintypes and offers a dewy finish. Honestly, I find it too sheer, doesn't really do much for me and the oil control is poor. I also noticed that after 4 hours or so when I sweat, I can see the BB cream sliding on some areas of my face (even with primer underneath). Fyi, I have normal skintype with slightly oily t-zone. What I do sometimes so that this product won't go to waste, I mix 50-50 of the BB creams if I want a medium coverage.

The Rejuvenating Silver Label BB cream on the other hand has a thick consistency and offers full coverage. See how well it covered my veins?! I like this better compared to other full coverage foundations I've tried (yeah you read it right "foundations"). It feels so lightweight despite the high spf 35. I've been using this BB cream for more almost 5 years already! Oil control is good and staying power is awesome! This BB cream stays put until you take it off, but make sure to remove it properly before you go to bed.

So which Dr. Jart BB cream is suited for you? I think it depends on the coverage you're looking for and your skintype.

Review : Dr. Jart Silver Label BB Cream

PRODUCT INFO on tube:
Rejuvenating Blemish Base, whitening SPF35/PA++
This unique professional formula containing innovative active ingredients, concealing blemishes and activating skin rejuvenation. It soothes red, irritated skin while providing moisture to the skin. It can also be used as a make up base.

RETAIL PRICE: Php 1,780 for 50ml.

WEIGHT : 50 grams

SHADES : Available in only 1 shade ideal for fair skintones.

WHAT I LIKE:
* provides medium coverage.You can skip concealer if you don't have dark circles & blemishes. I love the coverage compared to Skinfood BB Creams. Effect is like I'm using Maybelline's gel foundation.
* high spf - you can also skip sunblock!
* scent is not bothering
* good oil control. Suits my combination skin.
* brightens my complexion and matches my skintone.
* i love the flip top cap! Much easier to use since I'm always in a hurry.
* been using this for 1 week and so far no break-outs.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE:
* not locally available.
* kinda hard to blend since texture is thicker than Skinfood.
* shade doesn't suit darker skintones.

EDIT 5/24/10: Dr. Jart is now in the Philippines! Check out Manila Beauty Blog's post for the prices and available variants.
Note: Dr. Jart is also available at Mall of Asia Dept. Store. Thanks to May for the info!

TIPS:
I still use my moisturiser underneath to make it easier to blend. I apply the BB cream on small dots around the face, blend with Bare Natural's Foundation brush and blend again using my fingertips.

ADDICTION FACTOR:
The best BB cream I've tried so far! I really love the coverage...

RATING :
5 out of 5.
